I enjoy sewing but it can get expensive especially when it comes to patterns. My rule of thumb is to only buy them when the are on sale but even better is to find them for free.
Simplicity has a section of their website with free projects and patterns. You do have to sign up to access it but even that is free. They also have a classroom section with tips and a few videos. Remember they will be using Simplicity brand everything but usually what holds true for one brand is the same for others.
Another site I shared with you last year has added a few new patterns and still has last years cute fall and Christmas patterns available. You can find them here on the McCall's website. They do not have as many as Simplicity but most of what they have it cute and the directions for the ones I looked at and used were pretty straight forward.
You Can Make This is another great site with free patterns and tutorials. They also have a huge selection of patterns for sale at pretty reasonable prices.
